What is TZM molybdenum?
TZM molybdenum alloy is a high-temperature alloy mainly composed of molybdenum (Mo), titanium (Ti), and zirconium (Zr). Its chemical composition usually includes:
Titanium (Ti): 0.40-0.55%
Zirconium (Zr): 0.06-0.12%
Carbon (C): 0.01-0.04%
The content of other elements such as oxygen (O), nitrogen (N), silicon (Si), nickel (Ni), iron (Fe), etc. is also strictly limited
TZM molybdenum alloy has the following characteristics:
1. High temperature strength: Titanium and zirconium play a role in solid solution strengthening and carbide dispersion strengthening in alloys, resulting in better strength and stability of TZM alloys at high temperatures
Recrystallization temperature: The recrystallization temperature of TZM alloy is about 1400 ℃, much higher than that of pure molybdenum, which is about 1150 ℃
2. Creep resistance: TZM alloy has excellent creep resistance and can maintain good mechanical properties at high temperatures
3. Other characteristics: TZM alloy also has high melting point (2617 ℃), high boiling point (4612 ℃), high elastic modulus, low coefficient of linear expansion, low vapor pressure, good electrical and thermal conductivity, and corrosion resistance
The application fields of TZM molybdenum alloy are very wide, mainly including:
1. Aerospace: used for manufacturing high-temperature components and structural parts
2. Weapon electronics: used for manufacturing high-temperature resistant electronic components and equipment
3. Nuclear Medical: In nuclear energy equipment, TZM alloy is commonly used to manufacture radiation shields, support frames, heat exchangers, etc
